Wow, the last 2 weeks of college football have been everything we’ve wanted and we get another high quality slate of games this weekend! Get ready for a blockbuster weekend of college football that could make the playoff picture shakier than Mike’s commitment to staying sober. God bless, Mike!
Week 8 Pro Tips:
- You’ve probably realized from our write ups that Twitter is the best source for college football content on the planet. Case in point: Bill Connelly not only receiving a request for a “dog in him” stat, but actually following through with it! This is why college football is the best!
- 2025 is turning into the year for the Group of 5. First, you have SMU who made the jump to the big leagues and continues to find success, then you see Army and Navy both being undefeated and ranked, and lastly the best player in college football doesn’t play his home games on green turf! Who would’ve thought in the world of NIL and free transfers this would be the initial result?
- For all the idiots that said an expanded playoff would ruin the regular season, what do they have to say now? Look at all the games that still mean something even though both teams playing have a loss: Bama-Vols, LSU-A&M, WVU-KState just to name a few. Are you not entertained?
TOS GAME OF THE WEEK
#5 Georgia at #1 Texas (-4.5) 6:30 CDT ABC
What we like about this game: ESPN loves showing parents of star players in the stands and 90% of the time it’s just boring filler. Not so much in the Texas game, only it isn’t the star player’s parents stealing the show, it’s the backup QB. Sure, if you’re on a football field with the last name Manning (and the network has a Monday broadcast with both your uncles), it’s pretty unavoidable. The question is if you already have the reputation of being the failed, loser child would you actually confirm it by wearing this hat? Gotta have more shots of this on Saturday!
What we love about this game: Georgia is an underdog for the first time in 50 games. They also come into this game having won their last 14 games in a row in October. This is arguably the biggest game in the history of DKR. The last two top 5 matchups (Bama-Georgia and Oregon-Ohio St) were fantastic. With Uga staying home hopefully the story after this game is about the play on the field and not the distractions on the sideline.
