College Football Watch Guide | Week 7, 2026

What's on Tap

Week 5 must’ve been the calm before the storm, because Week 6 brought all the smoke and with the matchups we’ve got for this week it’s not looking to slow down any time soon!  Someone clearly let UCLA in on the secret early, as they were bringing the vibes right on time.  Winston Salem State (yes, that is a real school and not Ricky Bobby’s alma mater) is committed to stepping up their field conditions after going viral for looking like their field was being prepped for a scene from The Longest Yard, and we’re still trying to figure out what Lane Kiffin is regretting more: punting on 4th down with victory only three feet away or bringing a basketball goal on the field where opposing fans can quite literally dunk on you.

Week 7 Pro Tips:

  1. Oklahoma’s inexplicable upset of #1 Texas was certainly a memorable moment for college football fans, but even the most famous international soccer fan seemed to enjoy the insanity of the moment.  Most people don’t know however, that the person most responsible never donned a uniform on Saturday.  After recognizing the realization that OU hadn’t scored a TD since a staple of the trip north on I-35 had gone through an unfortunate transformation, internet sensation, Eddie Radosevich, understood the assignment and took matters into his own hands.  God bless, Eddie!
  2. Mike Elko is striving to be the man we all want to be.  There’s no doubt in the world that the best profession in the entire world is a fired SEC head football coach and Mike can see the light at the end of the tunnel.  It appears he must’ve caught the AI instadoc on Netflix about the OpenAI agents that conspired on a message board and masterminded a plan to accelerate his departure by attacking arguably the largest, most online fan base in all of America.  This is the same death sentence as telling your wife that she does not need another completely indestructible drinking receptacle that could survive the Apocalypse.
  3. The 24 team playoff is going to be debated to death this weekend, but last I checked none of these opinions are going to change anything.  I need these mundane, cookie cutter thoughts like upper-class suburbia housewives need more heirloom pumpkins artfully stacked on their front porches.  It will be entertaining to watch Nick Saban have to succumb to the ESPN machine and spit pleasantries about the new format while gritting his teeth.  The reality is the quicker we just embrace that we’ll eventually get to 64 teams like every other major NCAA sport, the easier this will be for everyone,  Plus, it’s the most fair of all the options.

TOS GAME OF THE WEEK
#18 Oklahoma State at #22 Houston (-4.5) 6:30PM CST FOX

What we like about this game: This game has everything you want for a great game: 2 ranked teams, one possession spread, primetime kickoff, and 62.5 over/under. The formula is lining up for another classic between schools from these 2 bordering states.  Could Drew Mestemaker vs. Connor Weigman be the second coming of Mayfield vs. Mahomes?

What we love about this game:  Houston is primarily a commuter school with an elite basketball team, so understanding how to support a strong football program is something they’re still figuring it out.  This hasn’t stopped the football program from doing all they can to provide an elite experience.  Oklahoma State is coming off being the laughing stock of the tarps off movement, and is looking to leverage their strong alumni base down south to pull off their next stunt…striping the opponent’s stadium!  College football at its finest!
