This open-air stadium, affectionately known as “The Ralph” by die-hard fans, has been the fortress for the Bills since 1973. With a seating capacity of over 70,000, Highmark Stadium provides an electric atmosphere, especially when the Bills Mafia is in full force. The stadium has witnessed legendary moments, from the Jim Kelly-led K-Gun offense to the iconic “Comeback Game” against the Oilers in 1993. Gameday

The Buffalo Bills were established in 1960 as a charter member of the American Football League (AFL) and became part of the NFL in the 1970 merger. They quickly found success, winning back-to-back AFL championships in 1964 and 1965 under coach Lou Saban. The 1990s were a defining era for the Bills, led by legendary coach Marv Levy, as they made an unprecedented four consecutive Super Bowl appearances from 1990 to 1993 with Hall of Famers like Jim Kelly, Thurman Thomas, and Bruce Smith. Despite their Super Bowl losses, including Scott Norwood’s infamous missed field goal in Super Bowl XXV, the team’s resilience and high-powered “K-Gun” offense left a lasting legacy. The Bills experienced a playoff drought from 2000 to 2017, but the arrival of quarterback Josh Allen and head coach Sean McDermott revitalized the franchise.

Highmark Stadium, home of the Buffalo Bills since 1973, is a quintessential outdoor football venue located in Orchard Park, New York. Known for its raucous atmosphere and passionate Bills Mafia, the stadium can hold over 70,000 fans, who bravely endure the harsh Buffalo winters to support their team. The stadium’s open-air design and proximity to Lake Erie often result in frigid, windy conditions, adding an extra layer of challenge for visiting teams. Highmark Stadium has witnessed numerous historic plays, including the legendary “Comeback Game” in 1993, where the Bills overcame a 32-point deficit to beat the Houston Oilers in an AFC Wild Card playoff game. Another unforgettable moment was Josh Allen’s incredible 2021 touchdown pass to Stefon Diggs against the New England Patriots, igniting the crowd and showcasing the team’s resurgence. Before moving to Highmark Stadium, the Bills played at War Memorial Stadium from 1960 to 1972, a venue affectionately known as “The Rockpile.”
