Heading to Glendale, AZ for a gameday? Dive into our breakdown of what you should do for your upcoming trip.
The Arizona Cardinals, one of the NFL’s oldest franchises, bring the heat at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. Known for its eye-catching retractable roof and roll-out natural grass field, this state-of-the-art facility offers fans an unbeatable game-day experience. With a seating capacity of over 63,000, State Farm Stadium is a fortress of football where legends like Larry Fitzgerald have made history. Located in the god damn middle of nowhere, at least 30 minutes from downtown Phoenix and best case 45 minutes from Scottsdale, it’s a prime spot to catch NFL action and then hit the town. The Cards’ 2008 Super Bowl run and Kyler Murray’s electric performances keep the crowd on their feet, making every game a must-see event. So why should you pack your bags and head to Glendale for a Cardinals game? Because there’s nothing like catching NFL action in the desert, indulging in some killer local eats, and basking in the Arizona sun. Plus, you can feast on some of the best pizza in the country at Chris Bianco’s Pizzeria before or after the game. With some of the best golf courses nearby, you can hit the links before you hit the stands. Grab your gear, hit up the tailgate, and get ready to witness the Red Sea rise – it’s game day in the Valley of the Sun!

Gameday

The Arizona Cardinals, originally founded in 1898 as the Morgan Athletic Club in Chicago, are the oldest continuously run professional football team in the United States. The team became known as the Chicago Cardinals and played in the Windy City until 1960. In 1960, they moved to St. Louis, where they were known as the St. Louis Cardinals, sharing the city with the baseball team of the same name. The team relocated again in 1988, this time to Phoenix, becoming the Phoenix Cardinals, and later rebranded as the Arizona Cardinals in 1994. Throughout their history, the Cardinals have experienced numerous highs and lows, including a memorable run to Super Bowl XLIII in the 2008 season, led by quarterback Kurt Warner and wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald. Despite their struggles over the years, the Cardinals have cultivated a dedicated fan base and produced legendary players such as Larry Wilson, Dan Dierdorf, and Aeneas Williams.
