Win the Weekend

Heading to Los Angeles, California for a gameday? Dive into our breakdown of what you should do for your upcoming trip.
Welcome to Westwood where UCLA, founded in 1919, isn’t just your ordinary campus; it’s a breeding ground for genius, with more NCAA championships than any other university. From film stars to Nobel laureates, UCLA is churning out success stories like a Hollywood blockbuster machine. Westwood Village, right next to campus, is where the action’s at. You’ll find swanky lounges, classic diners, and boutiques that’ll make your wallet cry tears of joy. Forget about a traditional bar district; this is LA, where every corner is an invitation to party like a rock star.

Gameday

UCLA has been tearing up the turf since 1919. With 17 conference titles, the Bruins have seen their fair share of glory, led by legends like Troy Aikman and coaches like Terry Donahue. Remember Gary Beban? That’s right, UCLA’s own Heisman winner from ’67. The rivalry with USC? Oh boy, it’s more heated than a Hollywood feud, with the Victory Bell on the line every year. Chip Kelly has led the Bruins for the past several years, but it hasn’t quite clicked like it did during his last stint in the Pac-12. We’ll have to see what he has under his visor from here.

The Stadium

Stadium History

The Rose Bowl, UCLA’s home since 1982, is more than a stadium; it’s an icon. Built in 1922 and renovated like a classic Hollywood starlet, this baby has hosted everything from World Cup finals to Super Bowls. But for the Bruins, it’s all about those unforgettable moments, like the 13-9 victory over USC in 2006 that rocked the college football world. It’s worth noting that before 1982, UCLA played its home football games at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum sharing the venue with rival USC.
