Heading to New Brunswick, New Jersey for a gameday? Dive into our breakdown of what you should do for your upcoming trip.
Located in Piscataway, New Jersey, Rutgers, is known as “The Birthplace of College Football,” and has been enriching minds since 1766. Between the historic College Ave Campus and the iconic statue of William the Silent, this colonial-charmed campus is a slice of American history. Nightlife here revolves around Easton Avenue, with lively spots for famous strombolis and scarlet passion.

Gameday

Rutgers football has been on the map since 1869, when they played what’s often considered the first ever game of intercollegiate football against Princeton. The program has seen its highs and lows, but the Scarlet Knights have shown resilience and an unyielding spirit. Under the helm of Greg Schiano, the team’s gritty, never-say-die attitude has made them a formidable Big Ten opponent.

The Stadium

Stadium History

High Point Solutions Stadium, the battlefield of the Scarlet Knights, has been hosting the clashing of helmets since 1994. One memorable moment that comes to mind is the euphoric 2006 victory against Louisville, dubbed the “Pandemonium in Piscataway.” The stadium, with a capacity of over 52,000, underwent renovations in 2009, enhancing the fan experience and the thunderous chant of ‘R-U Rah Rah’.
