Cardinal football, dating back to 1912, has a storied tradition of on-field successes and thrilling moments. While they might be best known for basketball, Louisville’s gridiron gang has given fans plenty to cheer about, particularly with their 2007 Orange Bowl win. A significant figure in their football lore is Johnny Unitas, a name synonymous with quarterback greatness, who donned the Louisville jersey before embarking on an iconic NFL career. The school’s football legacy also includes a plethora of NFL talent, none more prominent than the electric Lamar Jackson, who took home the Heisman in 2016.
