College Football Watch Guide | Current Week

What's on Tap

Welp, somehow even after over a century’s worth of college football we still get real world scenarios that don’t seem believable even when we watch them live.  Sure, we had the biggest college football scandal in Michigan since, well, the last college football scandal in Michigan, but we also had the greatest punt of all time, the worst pushups of all time, the most insane touchdown pass of all time, a Heisman favorite that couldn’t even make it onto the field without foreshadowing his team’s season, and most definitely the worst season a fan could ever have to endure.

Week 2 Pro Tips:

  1. Could this be the week the NIL bubble bursts? Bryce Underwood is on the precipice of becoming the YETI cooler of the pay to play era.  Not only does he continue to look inept on the field, but he does it with zero self-awareness.  Barring another Michigan Miracle where he goes full George Costanza, they’re about to be paying $15 million for him to be holding a clipboard and applying for admission to Western Eastern Michigan over Christmas break.
  2. The North North Texas experiment didn’t get off to the best start, but at least they have their non-conference home opener this week, right? Oh, oops.  Not the best time for one of the country’s most electric rosters (and uniforms) to come to town.  The good news is the internet provided a great strategy for OSU to keep fans in their seats past halftime and a vision for the “bigger” picture for their leadership.
  3. If you’re looking for a way to make some money this weekend, we’ve got the follow for you.  Clay Travis is back making weekly picks and to say he is abysmal would be putting it nicely.  It’s amazing that someone could make so much money being so bad at something they spend so much time embedding into their life.  It would be like Aunt Jemima coming to life and not knowing how to make pancakes.  Even his own team has publicly lauded fading him

TOS GAME OF THE WEEK
#23 Missouri (-5.5) at Kansas 7:00PM CST FOX (FRIDAY)

What we like about this game:  Weird things tend to happen during weeknight games and even weirder things tend to happen when two mediocre teams that hate each other play the Super Bowl of their season in early September.

What we love about this game:  While the rivalry hasn’t been played too consistently in recent years, it’s safe to say there has been no love lost between them.  As if making subtle racism accusations about your opponent in your hype video isn’t enough, this is the first time the teams will battle for the lesser known Lamar Hunt trophy on the heels of a battle between both state for the home of the Chiefs.
