Arrival
Fly into Kansas City International Airport, KC is spread out, so we recommend a rental car unless you really want to Uber everywhere. Your first stop is a taste of KC’s BBQ. Make a stop at the original Joe’s Kansas City Bar-B-Que in the gas station for lunch. You’ll order the legendary Z-Man, onion rings, and a Boulevard Wheat. Split an order of pork ribs with your whole crew to get a taste…
Welcome to KC…
Next stop, we’re going to grab a beer at BKS Brewery on the way to the Negro League Baseball Museum. After checking into your hotel, head to the Antler Room or Farina for a respectable dinner.
After dinner, head to the Crossroads for a couple nightcaps. If you’re looking for beers and a patio, try Brewery Imperial or Percheron for cocktails. Grab your final, final at Green Lady Lounge, a KC staple for live jazz music.
Gameday
Morning
Start your morning with breakfast at The Classic Cup on the historic Country Club Plaza, a shopping district inspired by Seville, Spain. It’s time to get some steps in, so walk to the Kauffman Gardens and the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, where you can explore the outdoor sculpture park or take in the galleries.
Tailgate
Tailgating at Arrowhead is legendary. Stock up on BBQ essentials from Gates Bar-B-Q and join the Chiefs Kingdom in the parking lot. Chiefs fans are known for their hospitality, so feel free to mingle and share some ribs. Make sure to get to the stadium early enough to witness the drum ceremony and hear the iconic “War Chant” as the game begins.
Night
After the game, celebrate a win or drown your sorrows at The Peanut on Main where you’ll crush the best chicken wings in KC.
Make a pit stop in Westport at Kelly’s at the oldest building in KC. Tell Colleen “Trip on Sports” sent you…
End the night in P&L. Johnny’s Tavern is the perfect place for Sunday Night Football.
Get Away Day
Start your day with coffee and breakfast at Messenger Coffee Co. or Mildred’s before grabbing a flight. Depending on your flight time, book a round of golf at Swope Memorial Golf Course.
