Win the Weekend

Heading to East Rutherford, NJ for a gameday? Dive into our breakdown of what you should do for your upcoming trip.
“J-E-T-S Jets! Jets! Jets!” The New York Jets, a team that keeps you on the edge of your seat, have a history filled with dramatic ups but mostly downs. Beyond the infamous Butt Fumble, there’s not much to celebrate in the past several decades. The ruthless fans boo every NFL draft pick like it’s a sport of its own, but hey, they’ve got Fireman Ed – or maybe not… Let’s head to the Big Apple, catch a Jets game, and see if you can handle the tailgate—because if you can make it here, you can make it anywhere!

Gameday

The New York Jets, originally known as the New York Titans, were established in 1959 as a charter member of the American Football League (AFL). The team was renamed the Jets in 1963 to reflect the modern approach and spirit of the team and the city. The most iconic moments in Jets history came in 1969 when they defeated the heavily favored Baltimore Colts in Super Bowl III, with Broadway Joe Namath famously guaranteeing the victory. Since then it’s been more media hype than on the field accolades, but maybe Aaron will change that…

The Stadium

Getting Started

MetLife Stadium, located in East Rutherford, New Jersey, is a modern marvel and home to both the New York Giants and New York Jets. Since opening in 2010, the stadium has seen its fair share of history, mostly from the Giants. The stadium underwent significant renovations in 2017, enhancing the fan experience with new seating options and upgraded amenities. MetLife Stadium replaced Giants Stadium, which also stood on the same site within the Meadowlands Sports Complex. One of the most unique aspects of MetLife Stadium is its massive size, seating over 82,000 fans, making it one of the largest stadiums in the NFL. The stadium is easily accessible from Manhattan via rail. Fans can take the NJ Transit train from Penn Station to Secaucus Junction, where they can transfer to the Meadowlands Rail Line.
