Gameday

The Las Vegas Raiders, formerly known as the Oakland Raiders and Los Angeles Raiders, boast a rich and storied history in professional football. Founded in 1960 as a charter member of the American Football League (AFL), the Raiders originally played in Oakland before briefly relocating to Los Angeles in 1982. During their time in Oakland, under the leadership of iconic owner Al Davis, the Raiders became synonymous with a tough and aggressive style of play, earning a reputation as the “Bad Boys” of the NFL.
In both Oakland and Los Angeles, the Raiders experienced periods of dominance, highlighted by three Super Bowl championships. Their victories in Super Bowl XI (1976), XV (1980), and XVIII (1983) solidified their place among the NFL’s elite franchises. The Raiders’ roster featured legendary players such as quarterback Ken Stabler, wide receiver Fred Biletnikoff, and defensive back Lester Hayes, who contributed to their success on the field and their lasting impact on football culture. Despite challenges with stadium issues and relocation discussions over the years, the Raiders maintained a fiercely loyal fan base known for their passion and commitment. In 2020, the team relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada, where they now play at Allegiant Stadium, continuing their tradition of excellence and looking to forge new memories in the desert.
