Win the Weekend

Heading to Cleveland, OH for a gameday? Dive into our breakdown of what you should do for your upcoming trip.
Welcome to the Dawg Pound and the city of Believeland. The Cleveland Browns, with a history as gritty as the city they call home, play their games at FirstEnergy Stadium, right on the shores of Lake Erie. This open-air stadium has been the stage for the Dawg Pound’s unrelenting passion since 1999, offering fans stunning waterfront views and a rowdy game-day experience. Known for their legendary players like Jim Brown and heart-stopping moments, the Browns have a legacy that’s as rugged as the Cleveland winters. FirstEnergy Stadium is not just a venue; it’s a fortress where the Dawg Pound barks loud and proud, creating an electric atmosphere that opponents dread. There’s nothing like experiencing the sheer intensity of Browns football, feasting on pierogies and Polish boys, and maybe even taking a dip in the lake after a big win. Grab your orange and brown gear, join the Dawg Pound, and get ready for football in the heart of the Rust Belt.

Gameday

The Cleveland Browns were founded in 1946 and quickly established themselves as a powerhouse in the AAFC and later the NFL, winning multiple championships in their early years. The Cleveland Browns are named after their first head coach and co-founder, Paul Brown. Legendary players like Otto Graham, Jim Brown, and Lou Groza turned the Browns into a dominant force, with their most recent championship coming in 1964. However, the team faced a major setback in 1995 when owner Art Modell controversially moved the franchise to Baltimore, where it became the Ravens. After a three-year absence, the Browns were re-established in Cleveland as an expansion team in 1999. The Browns have since struggled to recapture their former glory, experiencing numerous coaching changes and seasons of rebuilding.

Getting Started

FirstEnergy Stadium, home of the Cleveland Browns since 1999, is an iconic venue located on the shores of Lake Erie. Known for its open-air design and passionate fans, the stadium provides a unique game-day experience, especially in the chilly winds of late-season games. With a seating capacity of over 67,000, it features modern amenities and excellent sightlines, ensuring every fan has a great view of the action. The Dawg Pound, the infamous bleacher section, is particularly raucous, making it a challenging environment for visiting teams. Before moving to FirstEnergy Stadium, the Browns played at Cleveland Municipal Stadium from 1946 to 1995. This massive, multi-purpose venue, shared with the Cleveland Indians, was known for its frigid conditions and die-hard fans. While Cleveland Municipal Stadium witnessed many historic moments, the move to FirstEnergy Stadium marked a new era for the Browns upon the re-instatement of a Cleveland team.
