Gameday

The Carolina Panthers were established in 1995 as an NFL expansion team, quickly making a name for themselves with a trip to the NFC Championship Game in just their second season. Under the leadership of coach Dom Capers and star players like Sam Mills and Kerry Collins, the Panthers set a high standard early on. The team experienced ups and downs in the following years but reached new heights in the mid-2000s under coach John Fox, highlighted by a Super Bowl XXXVIII appearance in 2004, where they narrowly lost to the New England Patriots. The Panthers saw a resurgence in the 2010s with quarterback Cam Newton and Coach River Boat Ron, who led them to multiple playoff appearances and a 15-1 season in 2015, culminating in a Super Bowl 50 berth, though they fell short to the Denver Broncos. Known for their strong defense and dynamic offense, the Panthers have produced several standout players like Luke Kuechly and Steve Smith Sr.
